Web Design Philosophy
The point of having a webpage for a business or non-profit organization is to relay information to the viewer. People
who surf the web for information are looking for immediate answers. The web is much faster than picking up a phone or going to an
office. It can also be done at anytime. There are no office hours on the web.
With this in mind, Glendale Web Design has several criteria which we use in designing our websites.
- Simple and Fast Although a site with a lot of graphics and animation may look slick and impressive,
no one is going to wait around for the time it takes to load the page onto their computer. The best designs are simple and fast
loading, giving your viewers the information they need before they have time to click the browser's back button. The webpage
will also be less likely to break or glitch. A website that works like it's supposed to looks professional.
- Easy to Navigate Navigation and organization are the most important aspects of a website and the most ignored.
By making a website easy to navigate and intuitive, information is relayed efficiently and the viewer won't become frustrated or annoyed.
- Accessibility Websites that require the viewer to change their
browser or computer configurations are simply not going to be viewed. It's
an annoyance. Glendale Web Design creates websites that will read well on all browsers and platforms,
including older browsers. In addition, each website will be built in accordance with the World Wide Web Consortiums'
Accessibility
"Conformance Level A" so that those with disabilities and impairments can also view the website. Don't leave out any potential user!
